BASANITE
who can freeze itreading the whole roster in one call…

the bench

A streak means nothing
until you lay it beside the needle.

Basanite is the black stone a goldsmith rubs metal against. The mark it leaves is useless on its own — you judge it by setting a wire of known fineness alongside and reading the difference. Nobody has ever assayed gold by looking at one streak and feeling confident.

Every figure below is printed against the reference it should be compared with. Where no honest reference exists, the figure is still shown — but no comparison is drawn, the row is hatched, and it is marked as something you cannot check here. A number with nothing beside it is not a reading, and this says so rather than letting the number stand in for one.

or one of these

The last two are anchors, not examples. USDC is known to be freezable and wSOL is known to have both authorities revoked — so if this instrument ever reads them wrongly, you can see that it is broken without taking anything here on trust.

3 of 4 readings differ from the reference laid beside them.

Who can freeze a holder's balance

differs from the needle

A freeze authority can stop any holder from moving their balance, without their consent and without a vote. It is normal and expected for a regulated tokenized equity — and it is the single fact that decides whether 'non-custodial' is true of the thing in your wallet. One field, one call, and almost nobody prints it.

Who can create more of it

differs from the needle

A live mint authority is not wrongdoing — an issuer has to mint as new shares are custodied. But it does mean the supply on your screen is a snapshot somebody can change, so a figure derived from it is a snapshot too.

Supply on Solana

no needle to lay beside it

This is how many tokens exist on Solana — not how many shares the company has issued, and not its market capitalisation. Those are the figures a stock directory prints above a mint like this one, and they can be four or five orders of magnitude apart. No needle exists that makes this figure mean the company, so none is drawn.

Supply on Solana: read, but there is nothing to lay beside it, so no reading is printed.

Which token program holds it

differs from the needle

Token-2022 supports transfer hooks, transfer fees and permanent delegates — powers the classic program has no room for. A token under it is not automatically worse, but it can do things a tool written for the classic program will not have looked for.

What it costs to get in

quoting a real order on every subject…

What this cannot do

the part worth reading twice

It cannot tell you a token is safe

It reads four properties of a mint and lays each beside a reference. A mint can be clean on all four and still be run by someone who intends to take your money.

It cannot see off-chain custody

A tokenized share is a claim on stock held by a custodian. Nothing on Solana can tell you whether that stock is really there. This reads the token, not the vault.

It cannot certify anything

There is no pass here and there never will be. A stamp of approval is a liability this cannot meet, and every reader who trusted the stamp would be worse off for it.

It cannot read what the endpoint will not answer

Readings come from the shared public RPC, which is rate limited. When it refuses, this says so and prints nothing in place of the answer.

Repeat any of it

Every row names the field it came from and the slot it was true at. Nothing here is cached, computed overnight or stored — the page you are looking at was read when you asked for it, which is slower than the alternative and is the only reason a figure here cannot have drifted from its source.

BASANITE reads mainnet-beta through the public endpoint. Nothing on this page is advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation to buy anything.
